OMP 3 is a PHP web application with standardized install and upgrade processes. These processes are kept as simple as possible, although some general systems administration experience is recommended.
Up-to-date OMP system requirements, as well as installation, upgrade, and configuration instructions, can be found in the following locations:
For those who want to install from source via Git, instructions can be found directly on GitHub.
OMP can be downloaded from the Public Knowledge Project website.
If you do not have the expertise, infrastructure, or desire to install and manage OMP on your own, PKP Publishing Services provides complete hosting solutions at a number of price points. For more information, see the PKP Publishing Services website.
During the OMP installation process, you must provide an initial Site Administrator username and password to use the system. When you log in with that username and password, you will be brought to an empty press listing (you can return to this later from the Site Administrator interface). You may create your new press by clicking the Add Press option and providing your press name, an optional description, and the path from which your press will be found on the website.
Clicking Save on the Add Press dialogue will save the information you added and bring you to a Press Creation wizard. The wizard has six setup steps (with mandatory fields being marked with an asterisk):
The wizard includes only the most immediately important options that need to be configured before your press can go live. Once the six steps are complete, your press is live. You can modify these and other options at any time from your Management interface.
